11/7/2017 – Centene Corporation announced that CeltiCare Health Plan will close its Waltham MA office and lay off 37 employees, after the plan decided to stop offering health insurance on the Massachusetts state’s website. This may be the nation’s first insurance company negative reaction after President Trump ended subsidy payments to help lower income policyholders that were the primary market served  by Celtic Insurance. Before Celtic Insurance became primarily a provider of coverage for low income people, Freedom Benefits’ Tony Novak was a leading national producer for this company.
